More than four years, I’ve interested in photography. Started from 2005, at first time, I bought a new pocket camera which was suitable with my pocket condition ^_^. Photography was so exciting for me. When I could capture a beautiful image, it would make me comfortable, so happy.

Now, I would like to introduce My Photography Gear, my friend, my lovely camera.

1. Nikon Coolpix 7900 – pocket camera.

When the first time I bought this camera, in fasting Ramadhan month 2005, wow, this camera was so expensive. It cost 3.750 K to buy. It has 7.1 Mpixel with 3072×2304 resolution. It was used to be such a great pocket camera. Minimum aperture wide is f2.8, so I could shoot in low light condition. The weakness of this camera is no manual shoot. It replaced by many shooting mode given. But so far, I satisfied with this camera, which could produce bright, sharp, and clear image, compared to other brand owned by my friends.

Until today this pocket camera always be with me, accompany wherever I go. But poor, the battery cover has been broken after fall down while it was being used by my bro.

2. Canon EOS 400D – DSLR Camera

This is the first DSLR I have, bought in November 2007. A lot of picture I’ve made with this gear. User friendly, not difficult to learn this camera. After I bought this DSLR, I start to learn the real photography concept, from the lighting theory, shutter, aperture, film, flash, lens, etc. You can see my web about photography tutorial at thephotospots.com.

3. Canon EFS 18-55mm – Canon Walk Around Lens

This is a kit lens, the default lens for with 400D. The result, the image captured was less contrast, unsharp enough. But when compared with my pocket lens, it’s better. I plan to replace this lens with Canon 17-40 f4.0 L series or Tamron 17-50 f2.8 with less cost. But maybe later… hehe.. no budget for it now.

4. Canon EF 50mm f1.8 – Canon Fix Lens

May be this is the best seller lens. Every canonian should have this lens due to its sharpness in producing image with very cheap in price.  I bought this lens only 750K at Mangga Dua. Hehe…

I love this lens so much, especially when used for fashion/model hunting. Its aperture also made it available to shoot in low light condition. The image below was my lovely wife when captured by Canon 50mm f1.8. It’s sharp isn’t it?

5. Tamron SP AF 17-50mm f2.8 XR Di II LD Aspherical (IF)

I have bought this lens recently to replace my canon kit lens. This 3rd party lens is very sharp and have large enough aperture which is available to shoot in the dark. But its autofocus is not good as canon. However I really love this best lens as my walkaround lens.

6. Canon EF 70-200mm f4 L – Canon Tele Lens

This is my favourite lens. L series gitu loh. The first time I plan to buy a new lens, I compared between this and 17-40 f4 L. Because I have already have walk around lens kit, I choose this tele zoom lens.

This lens is very sharp in 70mm focal length. This lens was also very useful when I want to capture image which is difficult if shot nearby. The picture below was taken in Ragunan zoo at noon with about 70m in distance.

7. Velbon CX-200 – Tripod

Velbon, for over 40 years, its name has been recognized as a leader in the design, development, and manufacturer of tripods. I bought this tripod in PTC. Its quality is the best and made from titanium.

I usually used this tripod when I shoot landscape photography. It’s very tight and steady.

8. Wonderful Dry Box

This drybox has protected my gears from dust, fungus, and weather effect, and keep the humidity as well. But It should always be connected to the electricity.
